Which parts can you have remade?

Often everything still works, apart from that one small piece of plastic. A few examples, by place in the house:

• Appliances: the battery compartment cover of a remote control, or a knob that has snapped off.
• Cupboards and drawers: a handle, a drawer runner or a shelf support.
• Curtains and windows: a curtain rail glider or a hook from the blind.
• Covers and trims: a clip or a cover cap that has come loose or broken.
• Stands and crates: a foot under a monitor stand or crate.
• Spares: an extra one for the drawer, for the next time it breaks.

With or without a 3D file: two routes

You have a file or a link

Upload your file as STL, OBJ, 3MF or ZIP, up to 50 MB, or paste the link to the model. You get a quote within 48 hours. How to supply a file that prints well is explained on having something 3D printed.

You only have the broken part

If it is a simple part, we draw it again. For that you pay a fixed amount from € 29.00 including VAT, which includes one revision round. If it takes more work, we charge € 49.00 per hour including VAT and estimate the number of hours in the quote up front. You have the quote within 3 to 5 working days. You only pay for the redrawing once: if you want the same part again later, you only pay for the printing.

Photograph the part with a ruler or tape measure in the shot, measure the dimensions that really have to be right (preferably with callipers) and tell us where it sits, whether it takes any load and whether it is used indoors or outdoors. Which parts are tricky

The simpler the shape, the easier the redrawing: a flat cover or a plain holder is done quickly. Harder are parts that have to bend all the time, fine screw threads, springs, clear lenses and very small teeth. Walls and details of less than about 0.8 mm do not come out cleanly, and for soft, rubbery parts PETG is not the best choice. Beforehand we look at how thick the walls are, where the part overhangs and what force it has to take. If it would work better another way, for example with a thicker wall or in a different position on the print bed, we tell you.

Why PETG for a replacement part

PETG is impact-resistant, slightly flexible and does not splinter. That makes it work well for parts that have to keep something in place, such as clips, hooks and holders. What does a replacement part cost?

Printing costs € 0.19 per gram of PETG, with a minimum of € 8.00 per order, VAT included and with no set-up costs. A single part is usually light, so you often pay the minimum or a little more. If it has to be redrawn, the design costs are added (from € 29.00). Having a few made at once? From 5 pieces you get 10 percent and from 10 pieces 15 percent volume discount. Shipping within the Netherlands costs € 4.50 for a small parcel and € 6.95 for a large parcel; collection in The Hague is free. How the price is built up is explained on what 3D printing costs.

How it works

1. You submit a request with your file, a link or photos. If you only have photos, choose "Just an idea" in the request form.
2. You receive a quote without obligation: within 48 hours if you have a file, within 3 to 5 working days if we need to redraw it. The quote is valid for 14 days.
3. If you agree, you pay online and only then do we get to work.
4. We print and check your part. With a file it is ready within 2 to 4 working days after payment; if it has to be redrawn, the expected delivery time is stated in your quote.
5. You collect it in The Hague or we send it to you. You follow everything through your personal tracking link.

Frequently asked questions about having a part printed

Can I have a part printed without a 3D file?

Yes, if it is a simple part. Send photos and the dimensions and we redraw the part. You then pay the design costs and the printing price, and both are in your quote up front.

Can I have several made at once?

Yes. You order 1 to 999 pieces per request, and from 5 pieces the price per piece goes down with the volume discount.

Can you print a part for the car?

That depends on how warm it gets there and what load the part takes. Tell us in your request where the part sits and we will let you know beforehand whether PETG is suitable, before anything is charged.
