Large objects, 3D printed

Many print services stop at a 20 or 25 centimetre print bed. At MorphiCustom we print large objects up to 350 x 320 x 325 millimetres in one piece. Even bigger is possible too: we then print your object in sections and join them together. You get a quote within 48 hours.

Our maximum print dimensions

  • Width: 350 mm
  • Depth: 320 mm
  • Height: 325 mm

That is the volume we print in one go, without seams or glue joints. To give you an idea: a helmet, a 30 centimetre vase, a lampshade or a sizeable enclosure fits on the print bed in one piece.

Larger than the print bed? Then we print in sections

Objects that do not fit in one go are divided into logical sections in the slicer. We print those separately and join them, where possible in places you will not see afterwards. When splitting we pay attention to the strength of the joint and to the print direction of each part, because that determines how sturdy and how clean the end result is. The quote tells you in advance how many sections your object consists of.

What does a large object cost?

Large prints are priced by weight like everything else: 0.19 euro per gram of PETG, including 21 percent VAT. A large object therefore does not have to be expensive, because most of the volume is hollow inside, with an infill percentage of your choice. On the pricing page you can drag your STL file into the calculator and see an estimate right away, based on the real volume.

Why PETG for large prints

We print in PETG, largely recycled. That material is strong, slightly flexible and warps less on large surfaces than many other printing materials. That matters most on big objects: straight, flat faces and sections that fit together well.

Turnaround and delivery

A large object spends longer on the printer than a small trinket. Count on 2 to 4 working days; for very large or multi-part objects the expected turnaround is always stated in your quote. Pick-up in The Hague is free, shipping goes as a parcel via PostNL and you follow your order live on your personal tracking page.

Frequently asked questions

What is your maximum print size in one piece?

350 x 320 x 325 millimetres, width x depth x height. If your object fits within that, we print it without seams.

My object is larger than 35 centimetres. Is that possible?

Yes. We then print it in sections and join them together. Mention the finished size you want with your request and the quote will explain how we split it up.

Does a large object not get very heavy?

Usually not. Prints are hollow inside with an infill pattern, 20 percent by default. That keeps the weight, and therefore the price, down. If you need extra strength instead, we raise the infill percentage in consultation.

Can you check my large model first?

Yes, we do that free of charge with every request. We run your model through Bambu Studio, the slicer of our printers, and immediately see whether it fits, how it sits on the bed and whether splitting is needed.
