What you get

What is a 3D printed name plate?

Lettering that stands proud

The plate is printed layer by layer in PETG, and the lettering rises 0.8 to 1.6 mm above it in a second colour. No sticker, no engraving: you can feel the letters.

The plate grows with your text

You do not pick a size but a letter height, from 8 to 22 mm. The plate becomes exactly as wide as the text needs, up to 340 mm. Two lines are possible too.

Three ways to use it

Flat to lay down or stick on, standing as a single bent sheet like an acrylic sign holder, or for the wall with two 4.2 mm screw holes.

Prices

What does a 3D name plate cost?

All amounts include VAT and exclude shipping. The price follows from the weight: per gram you pay a rate that drops as you order more plates. What you see in the designer is a price indication; after your order we check the design and send you a quote to confirm.

Flat plate, one line

For example a 17-letter name at 12 mm: 176 x 24 mm, about 20 grams.

250.165€ 3.32€ 83.09

Standing, a single bent sheet

The same text, with the base as long as the plate is tall. About 54 grams.

A longer text, larger letters or a thicker plate weigh more and therefore cost more; in the designer you see the amount for your own plate update as you go. Every order is subject to the minimum that applies to all our work.

Honest

Who this is and is not for

Yes

  • A desk name plate that stands out, in your own colours
  • A door or room plate with name and number
  • A small number, from one to a few dozen, each with its own text
  • Something you cannot buy anywhere in this size and colour

No

  • Hundreds of identical plates: engraved plastic is cheaper then
  • Outdoors in full sun for years: PETG copes reasonably, but an engraved metal plate does better
  • A logo on it: that is possible, but through a request with your file, not in this designer
FAQ

Frequently asked questions about 3D name plates

How big will my plate be?

That depends on your text and the letter height. A 17-letter name at 12 mm becomes about 176 x 24 mm. The designer shows the size straight away. Wider than 340 mm does not fit on the printer; choose smaller letters or a second line instead.

How does the standing plate stand?

Like an acrylic sign holder: a single sheet with a single bend. The base lies on the desk and extends forward; at the back the sheet bends up into the plate, reclined by 15 degrees. The same thickness throughout, nothing to assemble and nothing that can come loose. Because there is nothing behind the bend, we make the base as long as the plate is tall; that is exactly enough to keep it standing firmly.

How do I mount the wall plate?

With two screws through the 4.2 mm holes, or with double-sided mounting tape on the back. The plate gets extra room on both sides so the holes do not run through the lettering.

Can I use a logo or a different font?

In the designer you choose from nine fonts that print well. A logo or your own font is possible, but through the request form with your file attached; we then draw it and you receive a quote.

Do I get the file?

No. We print the plate and ship it. No file goes to the customer.

What material is it?

PETG, both the plate and the lettering. That is the material we print all our work in; the page on materials explains why.
