What is a 3D printed business card?
The card is printed layer by layer in PETG. The card itself is one filament, the lettering is another, so the text really stands out from the surface and has a colour of its own. You feel it when you run your finger over it.
Raised lettering, two colours
The card in one filament, the raised lettering in the other. You choose the relief yourself: 0.4, 0.6 or 0.8 millimetres. The higher it is, the more you feel it.
Solid, not paper
PETG is strong and slightly flexible. A card in the standard size weighs about 11 grams, so people notice it when it lands in their hand. It does not crease and it does not get lost in a stack of paper.
The difference with print
A printing company delivers hundreds of identical paper or board cards, flat and cheap per piece. Here you get a thick card with relief and colour contrast, in a small run, and that is exactly the point: it stands out because it is different.
What does a 3D business card cost?
All amounts include VAT and exclude shipping. The price follows from the weight of your card: a standard card weighs about 11 grams, and per gram you pay a rate that drops as you order more cards. What you see in the designer is a price indication; after your order we check the design and send you a quote to confirm.

These amounts apply to a standard card of about 11 grams. If you choose a larger size or a thicker card it weighs more and therefore costs more; the mini size weighs less and costs less. Every order is subject to the minimum that applies to all our work. In the designer you see the amount for your own design update as you go.
How to have a 3D business card made
Design it yourself
You fill in your name, job title and details and choose the size, thickness, relief, corners and colours. You see your card in 3D on screen straight away, so you do not have to guess how it will turn out.
Order your run
You choose the quantity and place the order. The price you see in the designer is the price including VAT. Shipping is added on top.
We print and ship
We put your design on the printer and send the cards to you. You do not receive a file yourself, so you never have to touch a printer or a slicer.
What you choose yourself on your 3D business card
Size
Mini at 70 x 44 mm, standard at 85.6 x 54 mm and large at 100 x 62 mm. The standard size is bank card size, so it fits in a wallet.
Thickness and relief
The card in 1.6, 2.0 or 2.6 millimetres. The lettering rises 0.4, 0.6 or 0.8 millimetres above it. A thin card with low relief is subtle, a thick card with high relief feels like a plaque.
Corners
Straight, slightly rounded, rounded like a bank card or extra round. Straight corners look crisp, rounded corners sit more comfortably in a pocket or a wallet.
Colours per word
You choose a colour per word, up to a maximum of 5 colours per card. That way your name can differ in colour from your job title or your phone number.
QR code to your own site
Optionally we add a QR code that points to your own site or profile. It is a flat square in two colours, at the same height as the lettering: the light area in the lettering colour and the dark modules in the card colour. No pits and no raised blocks, because those catch shadows and scan poorly.
Several people in one go
Businesses can enter several people at once, each with their own name, job title and quantity. That saves placing an order per colleague. If you have questions about that, see business.
Who is a 3D business card worth it for?
This is not the cheapest way to get business cards, and we do not pretend otherwise. If you need a box of 500 to hand out at a trade fair, a printing company is a lot cheaper. Paper simply costs next to nothing per card.
It gets interesting for small runs, when you only hand out a few a month and you want them to stay on the desk. A card you can feel and do not simply throw away does more than the fiftieth paper card in a pile.

Frequently asked questions about 3D business cards
How thick is such a card exactly?
You choose 1.6, 2.0 or 2.6 millimetres for the card itself. On top of that the lettering adds another 0.4 to 0.8 millimetres. In the standard size the whole thing weighs about 11 grams.
Does it fit in a wallet?
The standard size of 85.6 x 54 mm is bank card size, so it fits. It is thicker than a bank card, so it is not a card you slide ten at a time into your card slot. If you choose rounded corners, it goes in and out more easily.
Does the QR code actually work?
Yes, but only because it is made the right way. The code is a flat square in two colours: the light area in the lettering colour, the dark modules in the card colour, both at the same height. That means no shadows and no height difference to confuse a phone, and it scans at an angle too. We also keep the modules large enough to print sharply; if your link is too long for that, the designer tells you straight away.
Can I put several colleagues in one order?
Yes. You enter the name, the job title and the quantity per person, and it goes out as a single order. The volume rate applies to the total: twenty colleagues with five cards each make a hundred cards, and together they get the hundred-card rate.
Do I get the file of my card?
No. We print your cards and send them to you. No file goes to the customer.
